Module 1
In this class, you will learn how to create beautiful surface designs using traditional hand-painting techniques. We will start with the basics of design theory and explore color, texture, and pattern. You will learn how to use watercolor, acrylics, or other mediums to create your own unique design elements.
We will cover a variety of techniques for creating different design elements, such as florals, geometrics, or abstract motifs. You will also learn how to create textures and experiment with different painting tools to create a variety of effects.
You will also learn about different ways to digitize your designs, such as scanning or photographing them, to prepare them for further manipulation or production.
By the end of the class, you will have a solid understanding of how to create beautiful and unique surface designs using traditional hand-painting techniques, and be ready to take your skills to the next level.
Module 2 with Certificate of Completion
In the second part of the course, students will learn how to incorporate digital techniques into their surface designs. They will start by scanning their hand-painted designs into the computer, using a scanner or camera to capture the colors and textures of their paintings. Once their designs are digitized, they will learn how to use software programs such as Adobe Photoshop to manipulate and enhance their designs.
Students will learn about digital color palettes and how to choose the best colors for their designs. They will also learn about the importance of resolution and file formats to ensure that their designs are of high quality and suitable for different applications.
In addition, students will learn about layering techniques in digital design. They will learn how to create multiple layers of designs, textures, and colors, and how to use blending modes and masks to achieve the desired effects. They will also learn how to add text, borders, and other elements to their designs to make them more interesting and unique.
By the end of this part of the course, students will be able to seamlessly blend traditional hand-painted techniques with modern digital tools, creating surface designs that are truly unique and stunning.
